Kitty Tetherball

Kitty Tetherball is a simple interactive cat toy inspired by the classic playground game. A ball hangs from a short tether on a curved post so that when your cat bats it, the ball swings and circles the pole, creating unpredictable movement that encourages chasing, swatting, and repeat play.

This design is intended to be secured under a piece of furniture (such as a couch or chair leg) so the base cannot move or tip during play. Once anchored, the ball can swing freely around the pole without the toy sliding across the floor.

Setup
    1.    Print the base and pole components.
    2.    Attach a short length of cord to the hook at the top of the post.
    3.    Tie the ball to the other end of the cord.
    4.    Slide the base under a couch, chair, or other heavy furniture so the toy cannot tip or move.

Recommended tether
Use braided cotton cord or small braided rope (approximately 3–5 mm diameter). Thicker braided cord resists fraying and holds up better to repeated batting.
