Ever wanted to feel like a wizard at the checkout? Now you can! This star wand holds your contactless credit or debit card inside the star head, letting you tap to pay with a magical wave.

The wand features a two-piece design with a threaded connection between the star head and the handle. Simply insert your card into the slot in the star, screw the handle in, and you're ready to cast some spending spells.

Why this design? Other wand designs I found were printed vertically, which led to terrible layer adhesion — the handle snapped with just a little swing. This wand handle is designed to be printed lying flat, so the layers run along the length of the shaft rather than across it. This makes it significantly stronger and actually usable as a wand without fear of it breaking mid-payment.

Printing recommendations:

• Print the handle horizontally (lying flat)
• Use support filament (e.g. PVA or similar) for the cleanest surface finish
• PLA Silk gives a beautiful, shiny finish (shown here in pink silk)
• No special settings needed — standard PLA profiles work great

Design your own head! I've included a STEP file of just the threaded connector piece, so you can easily design your own custom wand heads — hearts, moons, skulls, whatever you like — and screw them onto the same handle.
