Customizable assembly dowel for alignment, positioning, and modular connections.

This parametric model lets you generate dowels with custom diameter, length, number of sides, and chamfer, making it suitable for woodworking, 3D printing, cosplay, DIY projects, and modular assemblies.

Polygonal shapes improve print reliability.

The model can be used as:

• alignment dowel
• assembly peg
• connector pin
• modular build element

Supports both metric and imperial sizes.

Dowel diameter presets included in the 3mf files:

• 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 mm
• 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8"

You can adjust the length or generate a fully custom dowel using the Customize button. 

Important notes

• If used with wood, standard wood glue (PVA) will not bond to plastic. 
• For permanent joints use, for example, super glue (CA glue), epoxy, or polyurethane glue.
• For press-fit joints, print a short test piece first to fine-tune tolerance for your printer and material.

Printing notes

• Recommended materials: PLA, PETG, ASA / ABS
• Chamfered ends help with insertion and alignment.
• For best results, print horizontally with a brim.
• The OpenSCAD code (Customize option) aligns the dowel to the print bed for optimal strength.
