This project explores the fascinating geometry of the Reuleaux Triangle, a shape of constant width that creates a unique, fluid motion. Unlike standard geometric shapes, the Reuleaux curve allows for a seamless spiral rotation that feels incredibly organic and ergonomic in the hand.
The design is engineered to transform a mechanical slide into a liquid-like optical illusion. When printed with Silk PLA, the light flows along the continuous curved faces, hiding the layer lines and making the "infinite" pass-through effect look remarkably smooth.
Print Settings:
- Layer Height: 0.16mm is highly recommended. This precision is key to maintaining the mathematical accuracy of the Reuleaux curves and ensuring a friction-free slide. (0.2mm works well, but 0.16mm is the "sweet spot").
- Wall Loops: Standard slicer settings (2-3 loops).
- Infill: 10% (Gyroid). This keeps the model lightweight and perfectly balanced for effortless movement.
- Material: Optimized for Silk PLA to maximize the visual "shimmer" of the spiral, though standard PLA offers a great, tactile mechanical feel.
