Descrição
This bonsai root table is designed as a decorative display stand inspired by the natural flow of exposed tree roots. The base blends into a twisted trunk-like structure that supports a round tabletop, giving it an organic and sculptural look. It works well as an accent table for bonsai display, kusamono, small figurines, suiseki, or other Japanese-style presentation pieces.
The model is meant to feel like a miniature root pedestal: rugged, asymmetrical, and full of natural texture, while still offering a stable top surface for display. Because of the open root structure, it has a light visual appearance despite the solid base.
This print was made without supports. After printing, I heavily refined the piece by combining ASA smoothing with manual post-processing work to improve the organic finish and bring out the root-like character of the design.
Features
- Organic root-inspired design
- Round tabletop for clean presentation
- Suitable for bonsai accent displays, small pots, figurines, or stones
- Strong visual piece for tokonoma-style setups or shelf decoration
- Printed without supports
- Extensively post-processed for a more natural final look
Printing notes
- Best suited for printers that handle complex organic geometry well
- This version was printed without supports
- A wood, matte brown, or textured filament gives the most natural result
- Post-processing can greatly enhance the final appearance; in this case I used ASA smoothing and manual finishing work
Design intent
I wanted to create a stand that looks as if it grew naturally rather than being built from straight legs and flat panels. The root network gives it a more artistic and bonsai-inspired character, making it both a functional display stand and a decorative object on its own.
