What makes this model special is its auto-adapting boundary. Whether you choose a solid base to catch condensation from your mug, or a 100% open-lattice design to use as a window ornament, the outer rim organically hugs the exact shape of the snowflake!

🛠️ Customization Guide

This model is completely parametric! You can easily adjust the following parameters in Makerworld customizer:

• Seed: Change this number to magically regenerate a slightly different, completely unique geometric arrangement of the crystals!
• Number of Arms: Standard snowflakes have 6 arms, but you can change this to 5, 8, or any number you like for wild geometric designs.
• Coaster Diameter: Scale it down for espresso cups or up for a massive wall art piece. (Default: 90mm)
• Coaster Thickness: Control the overall height and sturdiness of the snowflake. (Default: 4mm)
• Base Thickness: Set this to 1.0 (or higher) to generate a solid bottom plate that catches liquid. Set it to 0 to remove the base and create a beautiful transparent lattice framework!
• Rim Width: Adjust the thickness of the outer boundary that dynamically wraps around the ice crystals.
• Arm Thickness: Tweak the chunkiness of the snowflake branches for a bolder look or finer detailing.

🖨️ Printing Recommendations

• Material: PLA is perfect for cold drinks and ornaments. Use PETG if you plan to use it as a coaster for hot coffee/tea!
• Layer Height: 0.2mm provides an excellent balance of speed and top-surface finish.
• Infill: 15% Gyroid or Grid is plenty.
• Supports: None required! This is a completely flat, print-in-place model.
• Bonus Tip: Try slicing this with a "Concentric" top surface pattern or using a textured PEI build plate for an incredible frosty finish!
