Descrição
Hello everyone!
I'm thrilled to share the next evolution in the Mod3 lighting range. We’ve done desk lamps and accent lights, but I wanted something you could pick up, carry around, and interact with.
Introducing the Mod3 Modular Lantern.
Classic Charm meets Modular Design
This lantern brings a cosy, portable vibe to the Mod3 ecosystem. It features a carrying loop and is compatible with the interchangeable textures and patterns from the Mod3 range, whether you prefer the solid ribbed look or the intricate woven lattice.
Interactive "Push-Top" Lighting
The best part of this design is how you use it. This lantern is designed to house the wireless Remote Controlled 16-color RGBW Puck Light Instead of fumbling around underneath or taking it apart to turn it on, the lantern is designed with a compliant mechanism: simply press down firmly on the top cap of the lantern to click the light on and off!
When you press the top down, the puck light will cycle through its standard settings. It works like this:
- Press 1: White Light
- Press 2: Red Light
- Press 3: Green Light
- Press 4: Blue Light
- Press 5: Off
It’s a fun, tactile way to change the mood of your room in seconds!
Printing & Assembly
- Support-Free: Like the rest of the Mod3 series, all parts print beautifully without supports.
- Materials: For the best light diffusion, print the main lantern body in a translucent or light-coloured PLA/PETG. Use Matte Black or PLA-CF for the base and top cap to prevent light bleed and give it a premium, weighted look.
- Assembly: Just place your puck light into the cradle and drop on the shade, assemble the cap and thread it on to the shade and push to click!
I’m really proud of the mechanical feel of this one, and I hope you enjoy building it as much as I enjoyed designing it.
