Descrição
A parametric custom generator to fill your drawers with the bins you need. (included Gridfinity mode)
Built to solve the biggest headache of organizing: figuring out how to actually divide your drawer properly.
Instead of sketching layouts on paper and manually 3D modeling dozens of separate boxes, this configurator lets you design your subdivisions directly in the builder. You can instantly see the results as you tweak your layout, doing all the heavy mathematical lifting for you in seconds. Whether you want a free-floating custom drawer insert or a strict Gridfinity setup, designing the perfect layout has never been easier.
Key Features:
- Visual Drawer Planning: Forget the pen and paper. Divide your drawer space into a grid and instantly see your custom boxes take shape in the preview window.
- The "GridMerge" System: Need bigger compartments? Use up to 15 Custom Bin Layouts to merge smaller cells together—just like merging cells in Excel.
- Design Around Your Stuff: Have a specific tool or item you need to store? Just type in how much space you need on the inside of a box, and the generator automatically handles all the clearances to make it fit like a glove.
- Dual Engine: Choose Standard Mode for a custom-fit drawer insert, or Gridfinity Mode to automatically snap your entire layout to the standard 42mm footprint and 7mm height increments.
How to Use BoxYourDrawer!
1. The Basics: Generating a Layout
- Measure: Measure the physical width and depth of your empty drawer in millimeters and enter it into the Drawer Dimensions. (If using Gridfinity mode, the script automatically calculates the maximum number of 42mm blocks that will fit).
- Define the Grid: Choose how many columns and rows you want to divide that space into.
- Merge Bins: Open the [Custom Bin Layout] tabs. To create a larger bin, activate a slot, enter its starting coordinate (e.g., Column 1, Row 1), and set how many columns/rows it should span.
2. Advanced: Exact Inner Dimensions (Standard Mode Only) By default, the script divides your drawer evenly. However, if you need a specific row or column to fit a specific item, use the [Custom Column & Row Sizes] section.
- Enter the exact Inner millimeter size you need for a specific column or row.
- Leave the others at 0. The script will automatically calculate the wall thicknesses and distribute the remaining drawer space evenly among the 0 slots.
3. Internal Label Platforms If you enable Enable_Label_Platform, the script will generate a label holder in your bins.
4. The Visual Fit Checker To check sizes, make sure you toggle the Show_Grid_Labels option ON. This projects a visual grid (in red) and the exact inner-dimension measurements directly onto your layout in the preview window, so you can verify if your planned contents will fit before you print.
5. Oversized Layouts (Bigger than your Build Plate) If you are designing a massive drawer organizer, the full layout will likely be too large for your 3D printer's build plate.
- The Slicer Trick: Leave Print_Mode OFF and download the tightly packed layout as a single .stl or .3mf file. Import it into your slicer, right-click the model, and select "Split -> To Objects". Then, press the Auto-Arrange button (Shortcut: A). The slicer will automatically separate all the individual bins and efficiently pack them across multiple build plates.
