The Witcher chess piece set
This is not an officially licensed chess set, but rather my fan-made adaptation of chess themed around The Witcher. I am a big fan of both Andrzej Sapkowski's books and the games by CD Projekt Red, so I decided to create a chess set on this theme as a tribute to these works.
Technical details:
The pieces have a base width of about 4.5 cm so that they fit on a chessboard with squares just under 5 cm wide. I used the chessboard created by the author Al0yyy, I am including the link: Low Poly Pokemon Chess Set with Box and Board - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld, and also thanking for the beautiful chessboard. I then enlarged it to 155% so that it would fit on the surface of my P1S. It must be admitted that even so, the pieces are not large enough, and some details get lost. I think that increasing the base width to 8-10 cm would give the pieces even better quality and appearance. I am adding photos of the models from Bamboo Studio, where the details are more visible.
Printing recommendations:
- I printed using automatic tree supports at a 15°
- strongly recommended print the individual parts separately, one by one. With such a small and intricate print, errors can occur, which I regret, but I cannot completely prevent, so I apologize in advance if any prints turn out faulty in some areas. (for me, only the ghoul with the back leg had issues - 2 cases)
-At the same time, be VERY careful when removing supports, especially in critical thin areas of the print (the Leshen's hands, the lower part of the wyvern's wings, the wraith's lamp, the dryad's bow, and the witcher swords)
I arranged the pieces like this:
Light side
king = Geralt of Rivia
queen = Yennefer
rook = witcher tower
knight = witchers on horses
bishop = dryad
pawn = dwarf warrior
Dark side - monsters
king = higher vampire
queen = bruxa
rook = leshy
knight = wyvern
bishop = wraith
pawn = ghoul
I firmly believe that you will enjoy the Witcher chess set, whether as a complete set or as individual pieces for your shelf or other games.
