Protect your furniture from scratches, noise and impact marks with a customizable TPU bottle base.
Designed to sit firmly on the bottom of thermal bottles, it absorbs contact with hard surfaces and prevents that annoying “hard hit” sound on tables, desks and countertops.
Customization Guide
This model is fully parametric. Adjust the variables below according to your bottle measurements.
- Bottle_Diameter
Measure the exact outer diameter at the very bottom cylindrical section.
For a standard base, use the exact value.
For a full sleeve, add +0.2 to +0.3 mm to make removal easier. Bottle_Base_Radius
Measure the bottom corner radius (the curved edge where the bottle meets the base).
For better accuracy, you can use a small 3D printed radius gauge tool like this one.If unsure, 2 mm works as a safe minimum for most thermal bottles.
- Wall_Height
25 mm is a balanced default for surface protection.
Increase it for more coverage or to create a full sleeve design.
Remember to add slight diameter clearance if covering the entire bottle. - Wall_Thickness
1.6 mm is recommended (4 perimeters with a 0.4 nozzle).
Thicker walls are possible, but generally not necessary for furniture protection. - Vent_Hole_Diameter
Allows air to escape when installing the base.
Recommended: ~50% of bottle diameter.
Essential for full sleeves.
Set to 0 if you prefer a completely solid bottom.
Printing Instructions
Use any of the provided print profiles as a starting point.
Simply replace the model with your customized version and keep the same settings.
Print in TPU or other flexible materials.
Use 3 perimeters (0.4 mm nozzle recommended).
Adjust top and bottom solid layers to ensure the base is fully closed and solid.
Standard infill can be used for the internal area — no special pattern is required for strength.
For a clean and uniform finish, use an Archimedean Chords bottom and top patterns.
Set seam alignment to BACK so internal and external seams align in the same position.
This reduces travel moves, minimizes stringing, and improves overall surface quality when printing TPU.
Description
This customizable TPU protective bottle base was designed to solve a very common problem: stainless steel and insulated bottles hitting hard surfaces.
Most thermal bottles are made from stainless steel or powder-coated metal. While durable, they can easily scratch tables, mark wooden desks, damage countertops or create loud impact noise when placed down. This flexible 3D printable base adds a soft contact layer between the bottle and the surface, reducing noise and preventing scratches.
Because every bottle has a different diameter and bottom radius, this design is fully parametric. You can adjust the outer diameter, base radius, wall height, wall thickness and vent hole size directly in the customizer to create a perfect fit for your specific bottle.
It works especially well with:
- Stainless steel thermal bottles

- Double-wall vacuum bottles
- Powder-coated metal bottles

The flexible TPU material provides grip, reduces sliding and protects surfaces such as:

Unlike rigid plastic bases, TPU absorbs the contact impact and eliminates the sharp “metal on table” sound that is common with stainless steel bottles.

The vent hole allows air to escape during installation, ensuring a snug fit. It can also be disabled for a fully solid bottom if preferred.
