Ce buste représente Hatchepsout, l’une des rares femmes à avoir régné en tant que pharaon dans l’Égypte antique durant la XVIIIᵉ dynastie (vers 1479–1458 av. J.-C.). Son règne fut marqué par une longue période de prospérité, de stabilité politique et de grands projets architecturaux, dont le célèbre temple funéraire de Deir el-Bahari. Afin d’asseoir sa légitimité dans une fonction traditionnellement masculine, elle adopta les attributs iconographiques du pharaon, notamment la coiffe royale et la barbe postiche cérémonielle.

Ce modèle est inspiré d’une statue historique la représentant sous cette apparence officielle. La sculpture reprend les codes de l’art égyptien : visage idéalisé, expression calme et intemporelle, symétrie maîtrisée et posture empreinte d’autorité. L’objectif est de restituer la représentation symbolique du pouvoir plutôt qu’un portrait réaliste, conformément à la tradition artistique de l’époque.

Conçu pour l’impression 3D, ce buste propose une interprétation fidèle d’une œuvre antique emblématique, rendant hommage à une souveraine qui a su imposer son règne dans l’histoire millénaire de l’Égypte.

This bust depicts Hatshepsut, one of the few women to rule as pharaoh in ancient Egypt during the 18th Dynasty (circa 1479–1458 BC). Her reign was characterized by prosperity, political stability, and major architectural achievements, including the famous mortuary temple at Deir el-Bahari. To legitimize her authority in a traditionally male role, she adopted the royal iconography of the pharaoh, including the headdress and ceremonial false beard.

This model is inspired by a historical statue portraying her in this official form. The sculpture follows the conventions of Egyptian art: idealized facial features, calm and timeless expression, controlled symmetry, and a posture conveying authority. The goal is to reproduce a symbolic representation of power rather than a realistic portrait, in keeping with the artistic tradition of the period.

Designed for 3D printing, this bust offers a faithful interpretation of an iconic ancient artwork, paying tribute to a ruler who secured her place in the millennia-long history of Egypt.
