😈 Barbed Devil (Hamatula) Miniature – Infernal Warden of Pain and Possession
This miniature is part of the Monster Manual 2024 Collection, a series of iconic creatures faithfully reimagined as dynamic, tabletop-ready sculpts.
The Barbed Devil, known among devils as a Hamatula, serves as both infernal enforcer and obsessive collector. Where the Bearded Devil breaks enemy lines, the Hamatula holds territory — guarding vaults, tormenting prisoners, and ensuring that nothing escapes its grasp.
This miniature depicts a tall, sinewy fiend covered in vicious, outward-curving barbs that protrude from its shoulders, arms, back, and legs. Every spike is sculpted thick and structurally reinforced to maintain 3D print stability while preserving its iconic silhouette of living weaponry.
Its stance is slightly forward and predatory — one clawed hand raised, talons curved inward as if preparing to seize prey. The musculature is lean rather than bulky, emphasizing wiry strength and relentless endurance. A long, spiked tail curls behind or connects subtly to the base for additional support and durability.
The devil’s face is narrow and cruel, framed by swept-back horns and a permanent sneer of malicious satisfaction. Its eyes burn with cold infernal intelligence — this is not rage, but calculated torment.
The scenic base features cracked hellstone etched with faint infernal runes and subtle scorched textures. No fragile flame effects — instead, the atmosphere of the Nine Hells is conveyed through texture, cracks, and surface detail suitable for repeated tabletop handling.
✨ Key Features
- Fully barbed infernal anatomy (Hamatula design)
- Lean, sinewy musculature with aggressive clawed pose
- Reinforced spikes and tail for print stability
- Infernal rune-carved hellstone base
- Designed for durability and gaming practicality
🎨 Great for Painting
Perfect for layered infernal palettes: deep crimson or burnt-orange skin tones, darkened horn gradients, bone-colored barbs with subtle blood glazing, and blackened claws. The spikes offer excellent opportunity for edge highlights and gloss finishes to create a sharp, venomous appearance.
The base allows for subtle lava glow effects without requiring fragile translucent elements.
📏 Scale & Compatibility
Scaled for standard tabletop RPG play including Dungeons & Dragons. Ideal as an infernal jailor, vault guardian, planar lieutenant, or tormentor in Hell-themed campaigns.
Not a berserker.
Not a commander.
A Barbed Devil does not charge blindly.
It waits — and when it strikes, it never lets go.
