ForgeLight – Modular Adjustable Workbench LED System

ForgeLight is a 3D-printed under-shelf/workbench lighting mount designed for clean installation, adjustable tilt, and integrated cable management.

This version supports a 50 cm, 12V LED strip mounted in a 20×10 mm aluminum profile (or a similar profile).

Mechanical Design

The system consists of two mirrored side assemblies.

Left Side

• Wall mounting arm
• Rotator (pivot joint)
• Aluminum profile adapter
• M3×15 mm screw

The pivot mechanism uses:

• M3×15 screw
• Heat-set threaded insert embedded in the rotator

This provides stronger clamping force and improved durability compared to a direct plastic thread.

Tilt range is limited to approximately 30° using mechanical limiter pins.
If desired, the limiter pins can be removed to allow a wider tilt range (note that this reduces defined angle control).

Right Side

Same structure as the left side, with additional:

• Integrated switch enclosure (snap-fit design)
• Cable routing hole toward LED strip
• Hidden internal wiring space

The enclosure hides soldered or connected switch wiring for a clean external appearance.

Switch Compatibility

Designed for a standard rocker switch with panel cutout:

• Approx. 14.4 × 8.9 mm

Always verify your specific switch dimensions before printing.

Mounting

• Designed for mounting to a wooden board or wall
• Mounting holes support approx. 4 mm screws

Use appropriate fasteners depending on your surface.

Printing Recommendations

• Material: PLA
• Infill: 20–25%
• Recommended: increase perimeters for stronger pivot parts
• Install heat-set insert before final assembly

• External 12V power supply required (not included)
• Basic wiring: Power supply → Switch → LED strip
