This is a fully parametric drawer organizer designed for users who require precise control over internal layout, modularity, and print reliability. The model is built around a robust parametric framework that allows the drawer’s internal length and width to be adjusted directly through user-defined parameters. In addition to the overall dimensions, the divider grid can be configured independently in both the longitudinal and transverse directions.
The divider system is based on a mathematically stable layout:
- The number of sections in each direction is user‑defined (1–10).
- Divider positions are calculated as exact multiples of the section size.
- This ensures that dividers never overlap, never extend outside the model, and always remain evenly spaced regardless of drawer dimensions.
- Divider thickness is set to 1.5 mm, and the model automatically adapts the spacing to maintain structural integrity.
This approach makes the organizer suitable for a wide range of applications, from tool storage to electronics components, hobby materials, and household organization. The geometry is optimized for FDM printing without requiring post‑processing or manual fitting.
Print Details
The organizer shown in the preview was printed using:
- Material: PETG (main model)
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Perimeters: 3 walls
- Infill: 15% Gyroid
- Supports: Only where necessary
- Top contact layer of supports printed in PLA to ensure clean separation and easy removal without damaging PETG surfaces.
Using PLA for the support interface layer significantly improves print quality on overhangs and reduces the risk of PETG stringing or bonding too strongly to the support structure.
The result is a rigid, dimensionally stable, and highly customizable drawer insert that can be adapted to virtually any storage environment. The parametric design makes it easy to generate new variants for different drawer sizes or divider configurations without remodeling from scratch.
