Descrição
This mod is for the H2 Series progress/status light bar. The stock bar uses a smooth/faded light line that can make it annoying to judge the print percentage at a glance. The printed insert separates the light from each LED, so the bar reads as clear segmented rectangles instead of one blended glow.
This is a segmented lens insert that fits inside the factory light bar assembly and creates distinct “blocks” per LED.
Print recommendations
- Material (important): Use PETG (or another heat-tolerant material). The area under/near the bed can get warm, and PETG holds up better than PLA in that environment.
- Lens/face piece: I’ve had the best results using Bambu Lab Smoke Black Clear PETG for the clear face area.
Installation (requires tinkering)
- Remove the original light bar from the printer and unplug it.
- Carefully release the clips—don’t force them.
- Use a thin pry tool (the plate cleaning knife/tool works well) to separate the lens cover from the light housing. It’s held by a tight friction fit and molded retention features. Work slowly around the edges until it pops free.
- Insert the printed segmented piece in place of the original lens/diffuser.
- Reassemble the lens onto the housing, reinstall the bar, and plug it back in.
Best part about it, if you dont like the look, just put the original piece back on.
Notes
- Take your time on disassembly, those clips and the lens fit are tight by design.
- This is a visibility/readability mod only; it doesn’t change printer function.
