Ce buste représente Hannibal Barca, le célèbre général carthaginois considéré comme l’un des plus grands stratèges militaires de l’Antiquité. Le modèle est directement inspiré de l’iconographie la plus répandue du personnage, notamment son portrait antique idéalisé diffusé dans de nombreuses gravures et représentations historiques.

La sculpture met en valeur un visage déterminé et réfléchi, marqué par la volonté et la discipline militaire. Les traits sont volontairement structurés et affirmés afin d’évoquer la personnalité d’un chef capable de mener des armées à travers les Alpes pour affronter Rome sur son propre territoire — un exploit resté légendaire dans l’histoire militaire.

Hannibal Barca est surtout connu pour la Deuxième Guerre punique (218-201 av. This bust depicts Hannibal Barca, the famous Carthaginian general widely regarded as one of the greatest military strategists of Antiquity. The model is directly inspired by the most commonly known iconography of the figure, particularly the traditional historical portrait frequently reproduced in engravings and classical representations.

The sculpture emphasizes a thoughtful and determined expression, reflecting discipline and command. The features are intentionally structured and pronounced to convey the personality of a leader capable of leading armies across the Alps to confront Rome on its own soil — an achievement that became legendary in military history.

Hannibal Barca is best known for the Second Punic War (218-201 BC), during which he inflicted several major defeats upon the Roman Republic, most notably at the Battle of Cannae, still studied today in military academies as a perfect example of double-envelopment strategy.

This bust aims to capture the determination and tactical genius of the Carthaginian commander through a faithful sculptural interpretation, designed to evoke a classical historical statue adapted for 3D printing.
