I’ve been playing with melting/drip forms a lot lately, and this one just felt right, a wall clock that looks like it’s slowly melting off the wall but still prints clean and reliably.
The goal here wasn’t just to make something weird and cool… it was to make something weird and cool that actually prints well.
This one only has 27 color changes, which really isn’t bad at all for a multi-color piece like this, and there’s no complicated assembly beyond dropping in standard clock hardware.
The face prints clean, the drips are thick and gradual so they behave nicely, and the whole thing is designed to be an easy, predictable print.
All you need is:
- Standard clock mechanism
- 1 screw
- Filament and patience
That’s it.
I’m really excited to see different color combos on this one. Black and gold looks sharp, but I have a feeling some of you are going to push this way further.
As always, I design these to be:
- Reliable to print
- Minimal waste where possible
- Fun to look at
If you print one, I’d love to see it in the wild.
Print Notes
- AMS friendly
- 27 color swaps total
- Designed for clean printing and strong drip geometry
- Standard clock movement fits from the rear
