So the next tool in the series, I needed a flashlight holder or a holder to hold round handled objects. And since the LED flashlights come is so many sizes, I decided to make it parametric, and work with most of the Grid systems, as well as a screw mount. I made it for Mulitboard ([https://www.multiboard.io](https://www.multiboard.io)), but other grids are supported.
The design allows you to make it as wide as you need for 1 or more flashlights
Note the holder is measured by the inside diameter, plus there is a bevel that is half the wall thickness, so the flashlight sits in that groove without slipping out.
So you can select a mount type from the following
- OpenGrid Lite ([https://makerworld.com/en/models/1175037-underware-for-opengrid?from=search#profileId-1195039](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1175037-underware-for-opengrid?from=search#profileId-1195039))
- OpenGrid Full
- Screws (#8 Flatheads).
- HSW (Horizontal) ([https://makerworld.com/en/models/22521-honeycomb-storage-wall?from=search#profileId-27457](https://makerworld.com/en/models/22521-honeycomb-storage-wall?from=search#profileId-27457))
- Multiboard SNAP ([https://www.multiboard.io](https://www.multiboard.io))
- Multiboard Screw (check the .3mp project for provided screws) (to be added next update).
Also a thanx to BlackJackDuck ([https://www.printables.com/model/1002471-multiboard-snap-backer-generator-parametric/files](https://www.printables.com/model/1002471-multiboard-snap-backer-generator-parametric/files)), that provided the OpenSCAD for the Multiboard Snaps.
If I missed anyone please let me know and I will update the text.
Here are the parameters:
- num of flashlights - how many holders do you want
- holder dia. (mm)- inside diameter of the holder, not counting the bevel (this will be wider) .
- holder thickness (mm)- how thick should the wall of the holder be.
- holder height (mm) - how high should the holder be(.
- holder center to center (mm) - how far apart should the holders be if more than one.
Some notes: the standoff between the holder and wall is based on the diameter, about 60%. The bevel is half the wall thickness. I suggest keeping the walls between 3 and 6mm. The height at 15 works. The snaps are calculated based on the backwall.
Print supports are needed for the SNAPs (they can be printed without, but depending on the printer, they may not work).
Let me know if there are an issues or improvements to be made.
