Descrição
This floating ring system was designed to contain my growing floating plant population, and potentially grow with it. The floating links simply snap together to make any size ring to fit your needs.
They can be used as a free floating closed loop and made into any shape to fit your space or just look cool.
OR
They can be attached to the glass at each end using the glass mounts and a single end link. It uses suction cups on the inside of the tank glass so it can be used on tanks with a cover that couldn't use the typical over the side mounts. **Placing the mounts level is important to allow the ring to rise and fall with the water level.

***UPDATE, 3/28/26
The floating links have been slightly modified to allow for splitting the rings into multiple sections. The last few model pictures show the new parts and some examples of new designs you can make with them.
3 new types of links are available in the print profile:
-For a split of 1 link width the split end double link can be used.
-For a split of 2 or more links split end 1 and split end 2 can be used, with normal links filling in the middle
This new version is compatible with the original links if you already have some printed. Those original links can be used for any spots where no third connection or split is needed.

***UPDATE, 5/29/26
The glass mount geometry has been optimized for a cleaner print, and now only comes in one size. If you need a custom size send me a message.
***
I recommend printing these parts in black or dark colored filament to help limit algae growth on them.
To know how many links to print:
6 links makes a chain about 1 foot long
12 links = 2ft …
Glass mount has 3 inches of vertical travel
