Gridfinity Spool Holder – 6× & 10×

This is a Gridfinity-compatible spool holder because loose spools rolling around your bench is a personal failure we can now correct.

Designed to hold 6 or 10 spools in a single module, this bin keeps wire, filament samples, solder, thread, or whatever mysterious coils you’ve accumulated upright, visible, and actually organized.

It drops straight into a standard Gridfinity base, aligns cleanly, and plays nicely with the rest of your system—because if it doesn’t stack perfectly, what are we even doing here?

This design exists because I bought a 10-spool prototyping wire set and discovered—like many before me—that cardboard spool holders are a lie.

They deform.
They tear.
They give up the moment you use them like an actual human.

After enough daily abuse, the spools escape, multiply, and end up loose in drawers where they absolutely do not belong. So naturally, Gridfinity had to get involved.

This holder replaces the original cardboard tray with something that can survive real use, keeping those unorganized stray spools contained, aligned, and locked into a very intentional 42 mm prison.

Available in 6-spool and 10-spool variants, it drops straight into a Gridfinity system and does exactly what it’s supposed to do:
hold spools, stay square, and not collapse under mild disappointment.

Printing Notes

• Prints cleanly with no supports
• PLA, PETG, or ABS all work
• 0.2 mm layer height recommended
• 10–20% infill is plenty unless you’re hoarding copper
