The Rotary Dice!!
This is the rotary dice to replace boardgame D-6 dice! It uses magnets for feedback and to key in the position of the faces. It is a great fidget too!
I am currently working on a few model iterations that use different size magnets for different levels of feedback! I will post those here. I will also be creating multiple bases so that multiple of these rotary dice can be connected together.
Assembly Instructions:
- Insert the bearing into the rotary wheel (part 1) until it is flush against the wall
- Use super glue to install the magnets into the 7 holes. Remember to make sure the magnets on the wheel all face the same direction. The magnet on the base (part 2) should attract the magnets on the wheel.
- Slide the rotary wheel (part 1) onto the shaft of the base (part 2) with the magnets facing the magnet in the base.
- Place part 3 into place and run a few test spins
- If no adjustments on the fit are needed, add a tiny dab of super glue to the edge of the bearing to tack it in place on the rotary wheel.
- Add some super glue to the inside hole of part 3 and a very small amount on the inside edge of the groove.
- Connect parts 2 and 3 and hold for a minute for the glue to dry
- You're done!
