Descrição
Separate Wall tile bases set for OpenForge 2.0 using the OpenLock magnetic topless system. This is a remix of the grand work of the awesome Devon Jones. This is just the makerworld compilation of some of his great work. Please consider supporting him on Patreon. Here you can find the OpenForge 2.0 Fast Bases and OpenForge 2.0 More Fast Bases models.
Included are:
- Assortment
- Separate Wall base 1/2/3/4 wide
- Separate Wall 2x2 Outside Corner
Assembly:
- Insert magnets into the bases (if not wanting to use the OpenLock clips)
- Glue object like tiles and terrain to the base
For magnets you can either use 5mm neodym magnet balls/spheres or regular 5x3 neodym magnets. I used both and there is no detectable difference. Both can freely re-orient within the nook, so don't worry about the correct orientation when putting them in.
How does any of this work? Do I need openlock clips, magnets or both?
The magnets go into the little doorshaped pockets. These are sized properly to assure the magnets can move around freely and self rearrange according to the required magnetic orientation to attract other tiles. the large empty spaces in the middle of each base are there to reduce print time and filament. The holes on the sides are to use the openlock clips, if you like to use them instead of or complimentary to the magnets. This may be useful If you want to assemble large amounts of tiles together and more easily move them around as one set piece (e.g. from one sidetable to the maintable). So far, I didn't use this part of the OpenForge system myself, because I'm happy with just the magnets. If any questions remain, please feel free to reach out directly or in the comments.
