Descrição
This is a remix of the bee incubation box. I printed one and it was perfect for releasing mason bees as they hatch from their cocoons. However, I wanted something for winter storage after harvesting cocoons from their bee house. I sealed off the exit doors, made a divider, and included some air holes for better circulation.
My printed model is scaled to 200% compared to the original, but depending on how many cocoons you have, you may want to leave it as-is.
Put your cocoons on one side of the box and a slightly damp paper towel/sponge on the other. Store in the fridge. Make sure to check every week or two to see if you need to replace the paper towel or add a touch of water to the sponge.
It's best to keep the fridge around 4 degrees Celsius. The paper towel/sponge should be slightly damp. Water should not spill out when squeezed (couple drops is fine).
*Before storing, it's ideal to clean the cocoons. There are many helpful sites that can cover this process.
