A unique 2×2 brick featuring a built-in rotating (spinning) top. Designed as a fun, durable, and kid-friendly print-in-place toy element.

How it works

After printing, place a standard 2×4 Duplo brick on both the top and the bottom. Hold firmly and twist with force — the two internal parts will snap apart and the spinner is ready to use.
 

Design goals

During the design process, I focused on the following goals:

• Fully compatible with standard Duplo sets
• Print-in-place design — no assembly required

  • This also helps reduce choking hazards, as kids can’t take it apart

    

• Iterated and tested through many design versions before reaching the final model
• No supports required
• Rugged bottom design with thick walls for better strength and long-term durability

Printing notes

I optimized the print profile for my Bambu Lab A1 mini using original Bambu PLA filament.

If you experience fit issues after printing (too loose or too tight), feel free to let me know — I’m happy to upload a modified version. On my setup, it fits perfectly with other bricks 100% of the time.
