Modelo 3D Gothic Enchanted Library – Book Nook por jovi no MakerWorld

Descrição

Step into a hidden world of mystery and magic with this Gothic Enchanted Library Book Nook, a highly detailed miniature designed to transform any bookshelf into a living fantasy scene.

Inspired by grand gothic architecture, this book nook features soaring arches, ornate columns, and a richly layered interior filled with countless books, stairways, and architectural details. The scene is brought to life through multiple integrated lighting elements, each carefully placed to enhance depth, atmosphere, and realism.

At the back, a large stained-glass style window is illuminated from behind, casting a soft, magical glow through the library.

A ceiling-mounted chandelier hangs above the upper level, while lanterns placed throughout the scene add warm, ambient highlights to corners and stairways.

A hidden button discreetly controls the lighting, keeping the illusion intact without visible switches.

To amplify the sense of scale, the design incorporates two mirrors (150 × 200 mm) on the sides. These mirrors create a striking optical effect, making the library appear far wider and deeper than its physical dimensions, as if the shelves and arches continue endlessly beyond view.

A detailed staircase connects multiple levels, inviting the eye to explore every angle, from the ground floor up to the balcony railing and window alcove. Every element is designed with 3D printing in mind, balancing intricate detail with clean geometry for a rewarding build and display.

This book nook is perfect for fantasy lovers, gothic architecture fans, and anyone who wants to add a touch of enchantment to their bookshelf. Whether lit up in a dark room or admired in daylight, the Gothic Enchanted Library is meant to feel like a secret place—quiet, timeless, and alive with stories waiting to be discovered.

This Book Nook was designed from the ground up with FDM 3D printing in mind. The model is divided into logical, modular parts to ensure clean prints, easy assembly, and reliable alignment. Architectural elements such as arches, columns, staircases, railings, and book stacks are optimized to minimize supports while preserving fine gothic details.

  • Print Compatibility: Designed for standard FDM printers
  • Materials: PLA recommended for ease of printing
  • Layer Height: differs from 0.16 to 0.24
  • Supports: Only required where necessary; most visible surfaces are support-free
  • Assembly: Slot-and-align design for accurate positioning and strong glue joints

The lighting system is fully integrated into the model. Dedicated channels and cavities allow for LED strips, individual LEDs, and wiring to be neatly hidden inside the structure. A concealed button is built into the design, maintaining the immersive look while providing easy access for lighting control.

The rear window is designed to accept diffused backlighting, enhancing the stained-glass effect and creating depth. Side walls are sized to hold two mirrors (150 × 200 mm, 2mm thick), which dramatically expand the perceived interior space without increasing the physical footprint.

All components are sized to fit comfortably on common build plates, making this project accessible while still offering a highly detailed and rewarding multi-part build. The final result is a sturdy, display-ready book nook that showcases both artistic design and thoughtful 3D printing engineering.

ASSEMBLY

Please have a look at my two instructions.
Here are some additional handy tips:

  • your cutter knife is your best friend. if print tolerances are not as good and there are many parts - just scrape a little off and you're good
  • cable management ist a bit tricky. have some spare cables. test it once in a while. hold the cables down with playdoh.
  • you can assemble it without glue but some parts I would recommend using glue: the balustrade, bookshelfs to each other but dont glue them down if you want to get to the cables later
  • it is a tricky installation - but I think it is worth it in the end. enjoy it and have some fun!

PRINTING ON X1C/P1P/P1S/P2S

To print this file on smaller bambulab printers are some modifications necessary - please use at your own risk:

  • download the .3mf files in the folder “printing on X1C-P1P-P1S”
  • to use the maximum bed height the zhop is disabled and maximum height is set to 252mm (printer settings → advanced)

the lid is split into to parts and can be installed separately or just the front.
