I was asked to provide an Imperial version of the popular Ultimate Square (Metric) model I designed. This is that model - Enjoy!!

Note: Some photos include the metric versions still, I will update these once I have done the Imperial photoshoot, for now please refer to the exploded views which show the correct markings :)

I wanted to design the ultimate fully 3D printable square that;

1. could be printed in the strongest orientation without any supports,
2. is double sided, having a full set of clearly legible markings,
3. is as accurate as possible.

By printing the faces of the square in two halves and by laying them flat on the bed (as opposed to standing tall like designs available elsewhere) the layer lines are in the optimum orientation. A simple set of shouldered locking fixings (also fully printable) allows you to then align & tighten the two pieces perfectly, using a small flat head screwdriver.

The overall accuracy has proven excellent, so I feel that this solution has ticked all the design criteria.

Includes all the usual features for checking/marking distances, angles & the larger sizes also have some notches for pencil marking at 1/2 Inch increments.
