Modular Marker Stand & Storage System
The Modular Marker Stand & Storage System is a 3D-printable, modular marker organizer designed for artists, designers, or anyone looking for a user-friendly, compact marker storage system that lets you focus on your art instead of workspace setup.
The curved geometry of Arc Attack isn’t just for looks—it creates a natural offset between the markers that make them easy to see and grab without crowding.
Features
- Holds up to 54 markers or pens in the full box configuration
- Compatible with markers up to 12 mm in diameter and 165 mm in length
- Tested with Crayola Supertips (shown in example), and also fits Sharpies, Pens, Fineliners, and similar
- Curved, staggered storage improves visibility and access while maintaining a compact footprint
- Modular blocks come in varying sizes (6-, 9-, 12- and 15-marker blocks) and can be rearranged or used individually as marker cups
- Slide-on lid with a tight fit keeps markers secure for travel or storage in a bag & allows for flat storage when not in use
- Extra slots between markers are perfect for swatch cards, labels, or reference strips
The 54-Marker Box
- This version of the system holds up to 54 markers or pens.
- I'm planning to expand to different sizes of boxes in the future to allow smaller or larger blocksets, stay tuned for updates or let me know in the comments what you'd like to see added to the system.
- Print profiles include both individual object plates plus “box set” options with various different configurations of blocks to fit the box.
- The tight-fitting lid* keeps markers organized on the go or while stored flat
Modular Blocks
- The modular block system allows you to organize your markers into groups of varying sizes – like colour groups, or different marker types. Different block sizes (blocks come in 6- 9- 12- and 15-marker sizes) allows you to choose the best configuration for your needs.
- Each block also doubles as a standalone marker cup for even more convenient use. The flexible size and layout also means that you can store different marker types together – this works for Crayola Supertips (shown), Sharpies**, Fineliners** or similar.
- A central block also features a wider slot that can be used for multiple pens or blending tools
- Spacers between markers can also be used to store colour swatches, labels or reference strips
NOTES:
* The lid is a very snug fit at first but will smooth out with a few uses! A friction fit like this is always a challenge to design to print effectively on every printer!
** The lid height included here is based on a 165mm tall marker (ie the Crayola Supertips shown). Shorter markers (such as Sharpies) may not stay in place as effectively if the box is inverted etc although I haven't had any issues so far.
Print Profiles & How to Use Them:
Profiles provided are in PLA. I created & tested this prints in Bambu PLA Basic on an A1 printer.
- The Box Sets profile feature a range of different box & block configurations, choose the “box & block” set that you prefer & also print the lid (which fits all sets.
- If you prefer to choose your own blocks or print extras of any sizes, use the Individual Blocks, Box & Lid profile and select the plates as needed. Please note the box system include here requires at least one “centre block” plus a combination of other blocks for a total of 54 marker spots.
