A fully parametric Gridfinity baseplate with a U-shaped cutout, ideal for drawers under sinks, allowing you to route around siphons or other obstacles 🌸🧩
The baseplate is generated with millimeter-precise accuracy and ensures a perfectly fitting, clean result — even for complex shapes.
Thanks to the parametric U-cutout function, the baseplate can be adapted precisely to obstacles, while the side arms continue to correctly maintain the Gridfinity grid.

The model automatically splits the baseplate to match the size of your printer’s build plate 🖨️

🛠️ Customization Guide

🔧 Target Size

 

📐 Target Width (mm)
Specifies the internal width of the drawer in millimeters.
The model adapts exactly to this width and generates a clean, even grid.

📐 Target Depth (mm)
Defines the internal depth of the drawer.
The depth is automatically aligned to Gridfinity units and optimally fills the available space.

 

 

🔧 U-Cutout Configuration

📐 Left Offset to Cutout (mm)
Defines the usable area from the left side of the drawer to the edge of the cutout.

📐 Right Offset to Cutout (mm)
Represents the usable area on the right side of the drawer.

📐 Front Offset to Cutout (mm)
Defines how far the cutout starts from the front edge of the drawer — ideal for adapting to siphons or pipe routing.

✅ The side U-arms retain the full Gridfinity grid
✅ The center area of the “U” remains empty (open cutout)
✅ Optimally suited for sink cabinets, U-shaped drawers, and work areas with obstacles
 

💡 Tip: Measure the obstacle area (e.g. siphon or pipe routing) precisely and enter the values in millimeters.

 

🔧 Baseplate Alignment

Defines how the grid is aligned inside the drawer.

Centered – even spacing on all sides
⬅️ Right / Left – flush against one side wall
⬆️ Top / Bottom – flush against the front or rear
↖️ ↘️ Corners – exact corner positioning

💡 For sink drawers, “↑ Top” (flush to the front) is commonly used to place the cutout at the correct depth.

 

 

 

🔧 Center Gap Mode (Center Alignment)

🧭 Function:
When the baseplate is horizontally centered (e.g. alignment “↑ Top”, “○ Centered”, or “↓ Bottom”), the remaining space (extra mm) is normally distributed evenly along the outer edges.
With Center Gap Mode, this remaining space is not placed at the outer edges, but instead in the center between the two U-arms.

🧩 Benefit:
This allows the side U-arms to use the full Gridfinity grid — even when centered alignment would otherwise cause grid columns to be lost.

Example:
A remaining space of 84 mm results in 2 additional Gridfinity columns (2 × 42 mm), evenly distributed to the left and right U-arms.

💡 Recommended Use:
Enable this mode when using a centered baseplate alignment and you want to preserve full grid columns on both sides of the cutout (e.g. for symmetrical U-cutouts or dual-sided drawer configurations).

⚙️ In short:

Moves excess space to the center of the plate → evenly sized U-arms with full grids on both sides, without losing columns at the edges.

 

 

🔧 Baseplate Height

🌱 Enable Lightweight Version
– reduces the baseplate height to save material and print time

📏 Enable Standard Height
– maximum rigidity, ideal for very large or heavy modules

 

 

🔧 Split Into Plates

For larger drawers or smaller printers, the model can be split automatically.
 

🧩 Splitting Enabled
Automatically calculates how many plates are required
Each sub-plate includes integrated connector mounts
 

🖨️ Build Plate Size (mm)
Define the maximum printable size of your printer’s build plate (e.g. 250 mm for Bambu X1 / P1 series).

 

 

🔧 X-Connectors (Bottom)

🔗 Enabled
Generates bottom X-connectors for precise, torsion-stiff connections between segments.
No glue, no screws — simply snap together.

Oversize (Tolerance Adjustment):
0.00 mm → Standard
+0.05 to +0.15 mm → Tighter fit for loose tolerances

 

 

🔧 X-Parts (Spare + Print Plate)

🧩 Automatic generation of the required X-connector parts
