Blast Scepter – Arcane Power Made Physical

Channel raw arcane energy and bring a touch of high fantasy to your collection with this Blast Scepter, a functional magical focus inspired by the spell-slinging world of Dungeons & Dragons. Whether wielded by a battle mage, sorcerer, or artificer, this scepter isn’t just for show — it casts a real “Fire Blast” straight from its core.

🧙♂️ Arcane-Inspired Design
Forged in the spirit of DnD spellcasting implements, this scepter draws inspiration from magical staves and arcane focuses used to channel destructive evocation magic. Runes, layered geometry, and a powerful central core give it the look of an artifact pulled straight from a wizard’s tower or dungeon hoard.

🔥 Functional Magic (No Spell Slots Required)
Hidden within the scepter is a spring-powered launcher that fires a small lightweight projectile — flavorfully referred to as a Fire Blast, Arcane Bolt, or Mana Charge. It delivers a satisfying “cast” while keeping everything fully mechanical and safe for maker displays and cosplay props.

🛠️ Maker-Friendly Assembly
Designed with simplicity in mind:

  • No screws required
  • Press-fit assembly (a small amount of superglue may be used depending on your printer tolerances)
  • Clean, modular parts that print easily and go together fast

Perfect for a quick build or a weekend project without hardware headaches.

🧩 Customizable & Display-Ready
Print it as-is, or customize colors and finishes to match your character, campaign, or magical school of choice. Whether you’re displaying it on a wall, bringing it to a convention, or just enjoying the click of launching a spell, this scepter is built to command attention.

✨ Turn filament into fantasy.
✨ Wield arcane power.
✨ Cast your own Fire Blast.

Assembly Instructions – Arcane Blast Scepter

This Blast Scepter is designed for simple, hardware-free assembly. No screws are required — only a few magnets, one compression spring, and optional super glue depending on your printer tolerances.

Required Parts & Hardware

  • Disc magnets: 5/16" diameter × 5/64" thickness
    • One magnet for the Traveler (Trigger)
    • One magnet per Arcane Charge
  • Compression spring:
    • 18 mm OD × 14 mm ID × 145 mm length
  • Super glue (optional):
    • Only needed if your printer tolerances are loose

Step-by-Step Assembly

1. Install Magnets in the Traveler and Arcane Charges

Press-fit one magnet into the Traveler and one magnet into each Arcane Charge.

Important:

  • Ensure the magnets are oriented correctly so they attract each other. Both magnets should have their same poles facing up.
  • There should always be plastic separating the two magnets when assembled.

This spacing is intentional:

  • It provides just enough magnetic force to keep the Arcane Charge attached while handling or waving the scepter.
  • It prevents excessive magnetic force that could reduce firing performance or cause the Arcane Charge to stick to the Traveler during launch.

2. Install the Traveler into the Staff

Insert the Traveler into the staff with the magnet facing away from the head of the scepter.

  • The Traveler should slide smoothly along the staff prongs.
  • If motion feels tight, lightly sand the contact surfaces until it moves freely.

3. Install the Compression Spring

Gently flex the staff prongs outward and slide the compression spring into the staff.

  • The spring should pass the internal assembly tabs and sit freely inside the staff.
  • Do not permanently deform the prongs — only flex them enough to allow the spring to pass.

4. Install the Pommel (Rear Cap)

Separate the staff prongs again and insert the pommel into the back of the staff.

  • Pay attention to the orientation so the decorative engravings line up with the rest of the scepter.
  • The assembly tabs on the staff should engage with the notches in the pommel.

This interlocking feature is a safety design:

  • Even if glue fails, the pommel mechanically prevents the spring from ejecting out the back of the staff.

Depending on your printer tolerances, apply a small amount of super glue between the pommel and staff to ensure a rigid connection.

5. Assemble the Head and Fingers

Slide each finger into the dovetail grooves on the head.

  • Once assembled, slide the head onto the top of the staff.
  • Again, ensure the decorative engravings are properly aligned.

Glue is optional here if the fit is snug.

6. Load an Arcane Charge

Drop an Arcane Charge into the head of the scepter.

  • The magnet should face downward.
  • The charge should gently snap into place against the Traveler via magnetic force.

Assembly is now complete!

Using the Arcane Blast Scepter

  1. Drop an Arcane Charge into the head of the scepter (magnet side down).
  2. Pull the Traveler (Trigger) downward until it reaches the locking notches on the staff.
  3. Rotate the Traveler to engage the lock.
  4. When ready to fire, rotate the Traveler in the opposite direction to release it.

⚡ Watch as your Arcane Blast Scepter launches its stored magical energy!
