Descrição
The size of most printable drawers is strictly limited by the printer's build plate, which is usually too small to accommodate standard A4 paper flat.
To solve this, I designed a model that is split into two parts. This allows you to print a full-sized A4 drawer on standard build plates, making it perfectly compatible with the Bambu Lab A1, P1 Series, and X1C.
If you have a large-format 3D printer and prefer to print this in a single piece, please check out the unified version here: Link to Single-Piece Version
When using the drawers to store A4 paper, you should:
Either use the "XL" print profiles, which are 3.5cm wider than an A4 sheet. This extra space allows you to fit your fingers in to pick up the paper.
Or use the print profiles (Plate 2) featuring a honeycomb pattern base. This allows you to push the paper up from underneath using a pencil (or your finger, if you increase the pattern size in Bambu Studio).
____
XL Version also available: Following a user request, an XL variant maxes out the 250mm build plate for a larger drawer. Rails are split into multiple sections due to the plate size limit, so assembly requires a bit more care — use the drawer itself to align the rails before tightening.
Print profiles: XL_Rails+Others, XL_Front_250x60mm, XL_Rear_250x60mm.

What's new in V2 :
- Safety Stopper system — Prevents the drawer from accidentally sliding out of the rails
- Reinforced rails — Better guidance and support for heavier loads
- Locking pins — Easy assembly of the two drawer parts without any glue needed
AVAILABLE VARIANTS
Choose the version that best fits your needs:
Drawer Height (internal):
- 60mm — For bulkier items, notebooks, or stacked papers
- 30mm — Slim profile for flat documents and light accessories
Bottom Style:
- Solid bottom — Classic look, fully enclosed
- Honeycomb bottom — Lighter print, saves material (pattern can be customized in Bambu Studio) and this allows you to push the paper up from underneath using a pencil (or your finger, if you increase the pattern size in Bambu Studio).
🔩 Hardware Needed (BOM)
You can use screws from your own stock, but please respect the dimensions below:
- For the Rail Frames :
- Wood screws: Ø 3mm x 20mm.
- ⚠️ Important: The screw head width must be less than 6.7mm.
- For the Drawer Knob :
- Wood screw: Ø 3mm x 16mm.
- ⚠️ Important: The length must be strictly less than 16mm to avoid piercing the knob.
🛠️ Assembly Instructions
1. Assemble the Drawer Slide the two parts of the drawer (Front & Back) together.
- Tip: Align the two parts face-to-face with very little angle. They must be parallel, otherwise, the male part will not fit easily into the female part. (See photos).
2. Lock the Connection Insert the two locking pins into the small rectangular holes on the sides of the drawer to rigidify the assembly.
- Note: Glue is not required, but you can add a drop of super glue if you want a permanent bond.
3. Mount the Rail Frames
- Slide both the Front and Rear rail frames directly onto the fully assembled drawer.
- Align the frames with the bottom edge of your desk or shelf (see photos, they explain it better than words!).
4. Secure the Frames
- Screw in the frames, starting with the outer side of the front frame.
- Tip: If someone can help you hold the assembly in place while you screw, it’s much more comfortable! However, I did it solo and it was relatively easy.
5. Finalize Fixing
- Once the outer screws are secured, remove the drawer completely.
- Now, screw in the remaining screws on the internal part of the frames.
🛑 How to use the Stopper
The stopper prevents the drawer from falling out.
- Place the printed stopper on the rear vertical wall of the drawer.
- Slide it all the way to the far right or far left.
- Insert the drawer into the rails.
- Once inserted, reach your hand behind the drawer and slide the stopper a few centimeters toward the middle.
- The drawer is now locked and safe!
To remove the drawer completely, simply reach back and slide the stopper to the far edge again.
⚙️ Print Settings
- Material: PLA or PETG
- Layer Height: 0.20mm
- Infill: 15%
A note on print quality: I test all my models before uploading. If your print doesn't turn out well, check your filament (old? wet?) and printer calibration first. Most issues come from these, not the model.
