RM40C Honeycomb Grid Light Modifier

This 3D-printed honeycomb grid is designed specifically for the SmallRig RM40C LED light. Inspired by the original accessory, it offers an affordable and customizable alternative for users who need a replacement or want additional magnetic light modifiers.

The honeycomb structure helps control light spill, improves directionality, and creates a more focused, cinematic lighting look for video and photography.

Magnet Installation (Important)

The included Bambu Lab print profile contains a built-in print pause for easy magnet insertion.

At the pause, insert round magnets 6 × 3 mm
(6 mm diameter, 3 mm height) into the designated slots, then resume the print.

Important tip:
Before inserting the magnets, mark all magnets on one side and make sure they are installed in the same orientation. For best results, install the magnets so that the side with the larger distance to the outer edge of the object faces the light. This ensures consistent polarity and reliable magnetic attachment.

• Always double-check polarity before resuming the print

Printing Notes

• Tested on BambuLab P2S
• No supports required
• Recommended material: PETG

Material Recommendation

The RM40C can become warm during operation.
For better heat resistance, this model was tested and printed in PETG.
PETG-CF can also be used, but carbon fiber reinforcement is not required.

PLA is not recommended if the light is used for extended periods or at higher brightness levels.

Future Updates
