An open-source wall-mounted shelf generator for openGrid, using the openConnect system. This model is called the Sturdy Shelf because it is designed to be printed on its side, which avoids the common failure point of layer line separation. I recommend to use the shelf with openConnect folded snaps for maximum holding strength.

Several example .stl files are included, with the parameters used to generate them in the file names.

Customization guide:

1. Choose "shelf_type". Use "Standard" for the full trussed shelf, or "Slim" for a simpler, filament-efficient shelf that only occupies one vertical grid space.
2. Set the shelf size. Use "horizontal_grids" and "depth_grids". These values use openGrid units (28 mm per grid).
3. Adjust the shelf body. Use "shelf_back_thickness" and "shelf_bottom_thickness". Increase "shelf_corner_fillet" if you want a thicker inside corner.
4. Adjust the Standard shelf truss. Use "truss_thickness", "truss_beam_reach", and "truss_strut_interval". "truss_beam_reach" controls how far the diagonal truss extends under the shelf, and "truss_strut_interval" controls the spacing of the vertical struts. Set "truss_strut_interval" to 0 to disable the extra struts.
5. Optional: add connector holes. Enable "add_left_connector_holes" or "add_right_connector_holes" when you want to print shelf segments separately and join them into a wider shelf. You may also want to disable the shelf edge on one side of each segment. The connectors can be downloaded from the model page, and they are the same connectors used by openGrid boards.
6. Optional: adjust shelf edges. Enable or disable each raised edge with "add_left_edge", "add_right_edge", and "add_front_edge". Use "shelf_x_edge_depth" to adjust how tall the edges are, and "shelf_x_edge_thickness" to adjust the edge wall thickness.
7. Optional: adjust the surface texture. The texture is enabled by default to hide layer lines and other 3D-printing artifacts. Use "add_texture" to enable or disable it, and use "shelf_texture_depth" and "shelf_texture_size" to tweak the texture geometry.
8. Optional: adjust miscellaneous options:
   • "slot_lock_distribution" - add more locks to openConnect slots for a tighter mount, or fewer locks for easier installation.
   • "slot_entryramp_flip" - change the slot entry ramp direction, which can matter when installing in tight spaces.
   • "slot_side_clearance" and "slot_depth_clearance" - increase these if the slots feel too tight, or reduce them if the fit is too loose.
