The MindLock Gift Box is not an ordinary gift box.
It is designed so that opening it is not about strength, but about logic, observation, and patience.
This mechanical puzzle gift box combines screw-based locking, left-hand and right-hand threads, and a multi-stage internal mechanism. The result is a unique puzzle experience where the process of opening the box is part of the gift itself.
Perfect for hiding a small surprise and turning the moment of unboxing into a memorable challenge.
🧩 How It Works
- The box is wrapped with a decorative ribbon, secured on each side by 4 screws
- On every side there are:
- 2 left-hand thread screws
- 2 right-hand thread screws
- All screws are loosened using the included key
🔍 Thread identification:
- A screw with a right-hand thread is marked with a small dot on the bottom of the screw head
- The same dot can be found on the gift box where the ribbon is attached
→ Only careful observation reveals the correct screw orientation
🔐 Lid & Internal Locking Mechanism
Opening the lid is a multi-step process:
- The top button must be pressed
- The lid must be slowly rotated to properly engage the internal mechanism
- This action rotates the internal locking tabs back
- The lid then needs to be shifted into a second position
- This movement releases the tabs in a second axis, allowing the lid to be removed
This mechanism is intentionally designed so that:
- the box cannot be opened accidentally
- it is not intuitive on the first attempt
- users must experiment and think through the solution

🔧 Assembly & Safety Notes
- Please do not overtighten the screws.
All parts are designed to move and loosen smoothly. Excessive force is not required. - When removing supports from the top plate and the inner bottom part (as shown in the video):
Carefully remove the supports by gently levering them away from the body using a flat-head screwdriver.
⚠️ Proceed slowly and carefully to avoid injury. - After support removal:
Thoroughly clean all remaining support material and filament residues.
Make sure all sliding plates move freely and smoothly before final assembly. - Sliding plates and both locking discs (small and large):
Assemble them according to the instructions and test their movement before continuing. - Top cap with thread:
Secure the threaded top cap using glue to prevent it from loosening during use!!!
