This is an an upgrade to my other model for Gridifnity([https://gridfinity.xyz/](https://gridfinity.xyz/)) Breadboards ([https://makerworld.com/en/models/1718223-gridfinity-electronic-component-storage-arduino#profileId-1823774](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1718223-gridfinity-electronic-component-storage-arduino#profileId-1823774)).  

 

This fixes a few issues, such as it not fitting on some grids, needing supports, etc.   Also added the ability to tailor it to any height, size with magnets, etc.  So with the parametric model, you can add lips, etc.

 

The original bins were similar to [https://makerworld.com/en/models/234549-gridfinity-esp32-1x2-bin?from=search#profileId-493143,](https://makerworld.com/en/models/234549-gridfinity-esp32-1x2-bin?from=search#profileId-493143,) which uses square holes, I used round positioning into the square holes, which help with bent pins..   This is standard industry component spacing of 2.54mm on center, and I used 0.9 mm holes.   

 

Based on the Gridfinity spec, a 1U space is 7mm, I added a second layer to match the hole depth.  So a minimum height is about 2U.  If you have walls less than 2U, you get a flat surface.  Also this time I don't go into the base.

Important Parameters:

  • Grid X - size is Gridifnity bins (42mm)
  • Grid Y - size is Gridifnity bins (42mm)
  • Grid Z - Height in Gridfinity Units (7mm).
  • Wall Margin - how close to the edge should the holes go, smaller gives you more holes.

Note: there are parameters that control the bread board spacing.   You shouldn't need to adjust these, except for the hole size.  If the  holes seem tool small (the tops taper), adjust the hole size by .1 or .2.   Use the 1x2 as a test, it has the 1.1 hole size.
