Modular Cable Management for 10-Inch Homelab Racks

Looking for clean, flexible cable management in a 10-inch rack? This model was designed exactly for that.

This is a modular cable management system for server racks / homelabs, with a strong focus on clean routing, expandability, and layered cable organization.

It was designed alongside the KWS Rack v2 – Heavy-Duty 10-Inch Homelab Rack, but the screw-mounted versions are compatible with any rack where you can install M5 screws from the inner side.

Why This Exists

If you run a homelab, you already know:

• Cables multiply fast
• LED wiring gets messy quickly
• Most cable solutions are either bulky or too limiting

These mounts solve that by:

• Separating power / data cables from LED wiring
• Allowing layered routing (cables behind LEDs)
• Staying low-profile and modular
• Being fully 3D-printable and customizable

Cable Management Mounts

🔹 C1 – Screw-Mount Cable Strap Bracket (M5)

Designed to work with hook-and-loop cable ties, making it extremely flexible:

• Holds any number of cables
• Easy to add or remove cables later
• Ideal for power, Ethernet, USB, and sensor wiring

Recommended accessory:

Reusable hook-and-loop cable ties (Velcro-style), ~10mm width.

🔹 C2 – Push-Fit Cable Retainer (KWS Frame Holes)

A clean, minimal solution:

• Press-fits into KWS Rack frame holes
• Locks cables directly against the frame
• No screws or hardware needed

Best for fixed cable paths you don’t plan to change often.

LED Strip Cable Routing Mounts

Designed specifically for addressable LED strip wiring, keeping LED cables hidden above the main cable layer.

🔹 L1 – Screw-Mount LED Cable Guide (M5)

• Mounts using a standard M5 rack screw
• Routes LED strip wires cleanly
• Compatible with common 5V addressable LED strips

🔹 L2 – Push-Fit LED Cable Guide (KWS Frame Holes)

• Press-fit version of the LED cable guide
• Same routing geometry as L1
• Ideal if your rack frame has unused holes

Layered Cable Design (Important)

These mounts are designed so that:

• Main cables run on a lower layer
• LED wiring runs above them
• LED strips visually hide the cables behind

This keeps the rack clean even when fully populated.

Hardware & Accessories

You may want to have:

• M5 rack screws (standard)
• Hook-and-loop cable ties (Velcro-style)
• 5V addressable LED strips (e.g. WS2812B-style, silicone sleeve)
