UPDATE: Added an Arca-Swiss tripod adaptor for those with the quick release system on their camera tripod.

UPDATE: Added a second tripod adaptor with 5/8" thread which seems to be the standard used by the construction industry. The original ¼" adaptor is the standard used by camera tripods.

This model is an adjustable height laser level platform. It allows simple, quick and accurate height adjustment of the height of the laser by simply rotating the collet on the pillar. To assemble you only need 2 small 3mm self tapping screws. Optionally some grease will help the model feel much smoother (I used the same as I grease the Z screw on my printer).

This model allows the laser platform to be height adjusted while keeping the platform pointing in the same direction. Retating the collet does not rotate the platform.

• Has 2 pillar heights which are interchangeable - 100mm and 200mm.
• Has models for a solid platform where the level level sits, or a slotted platform to allow a ¼" bolt to secure the laser level unit to the platform.
• Has 2 pillar adaptors, one for the suppled base (which is hollow and can be filled with dry sand to provide extra stability) and one which will allow the pillar to be screwed only any tripod with a standard ¼" thread.

Printing

• The 2 pillars should print upright, however they will require supports at the bottom for the adaptor to be able to screw in.
• The collet also requires supports.
• The platfiorm and collet top (The back parts in the image above) do not require supports, however I have found that the round and vertical parts should be printed with 100% infill for strength (The included profile uses a modifier block).
• The base requires no supports, hoever it's adaptor does.
• The tripod adaptor requires no supports.

Assembly

First, take the (red) collet (optionally grease the inset parts at the bottom and the top. Do not grease the knurled part), and place it onto the collet platform.

Next, place the collet top on the collet, and screw the 2 x 3mm screws in. At this point leave the a little loose.

And then screw the base onto the bottom of the adaptor.

Screw the platform onto the pillar by placing it on top and rotating the collet. The platform should not rotate with the collet. Only onto the pillar a short way and the collect top is located property then tighten up the 3mm screws. Once done the platform can be moved up and down the pillar while the platform stays pointing the same direction.

To use the tripod adaptor, screw it onto the bottom of a pillar

Screw the pillar onto the tripod of your choice and then add the platform and collet.
