I have hollow doors on my pantry and the ball for the catch latch keeps falling into the door. After replacing it twice I decided to come up with my own solution.
The threaded ball is adjustable by screwing into the threaded base if you have higher clearance. You can also use it without the Threaded Base if you need it shorter.
Once you set the depth, I recommend gluing the ball in place onto the spring so it doesn't jump back out during use. You could also glue the bottom of the spring to the main body as well.
EDIT: After a few weeks of use I decided the spring would be more effective with a little more strength. Attaching “Spring 2.stl”.
Dimensions:
Main Body:
26 x 52.8 mm - wide
40.83 mm - tall
4.2 mm - screw holes
Spring:
15.3 x 22 x 7.65 mm
Threaded Ball
12.43 mm - wide
14 mm - tall
Threaded Base
15.3 mm - wide
EDIT: I found that the slot in the threaded ball would catch on the top of the door frame. Re-uploading with a smooth ball top. It's still easy enough to adjust by hand without the flat-head screwdriver slot.
