Calgary Flames: Hex Coaster
This coaster design is inspired by the Calgary Flames, featuring three separate parts: the logo, a hex background, and the base. I designed it this way to minimize or even eliminate the need for color changes during printing. The separate base also allows you to experiment with different filament colors for a clean, contrasting outline.
Included Print Profiles:
- Combined Parts: Print all parts together.
- Separate Parts: Print all parts separately (No AMS)
- For the Separate Parts print profile: print the logo pieces separately and glue or press-fit them into the hex background. The logo pieces are designed to fit together snugly—it’s a tight fit. I found it easiest to assemble the logo pieces first, then insert the completed logo into the hex background.
- If the fit is tight, use something flat and hard to evenly press the logo into place, or flip the coaster upside down and press firmly against a solid surface to seat the logo fully. You can use glue if the fit isn’t very tight, but it’s not needed if the logo fits snugly.
Dimensions: 100 x 100 x 4.2 mm
Recommended Print Settings:
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: 10%–20%
- Infill Pattern: Gyroid
Filaments Used:
- Bambu Basic PLA Jade White
- Bambu Basic PLA Orange
- Bambu Basic PLA Black
- Bambu Basic PLA Red
Notes:
- The hex background piece fits snugly into the base without glue, so you can separate the pieces if you want. However, if you prefer a permanent finish, the hex piece can be glued into the base.
- Feel free to scale this model to any size you like — just be sure to scale all parts equally to keep them compatible.
