Drop-down pill tower • multi-language containers!
I wanted a pill tower that didn't clutter my bathroom sink, so I designed one that could be mounted on the inside of a bathroom mirror cabinet. I used double-sided tape to mount it.
Hidden when the doors are closed, perfectly visible when I start my day. Each morning when I open the mirror to grab my skincare, the tower greets me with the next tray, and I am immediately reminded to take my pills. I've customized them so that each container has the name of the day on them, that way I know if I've already taken them or not. Modest, tidy and impossible to forget.
Since I have no skill with 3D modeling software at all, I made this entirely using Bambu Studio! Lots of cylinders and the Mesh Boolean action was involved into making this. I started off with the “Make My Desk Organizer” generative tool from Bambu Lab, but ended up recreating everything from scratch just in the slicer.
In this description you'll find info about:
- the different types of containers
- the different types of towers
- the available languages for the containers
- the available print profiles
Three different types of containers!
In case you were wondering why I made three different types of containers: because I was indecisive. Aren't we all, sometimes?
Front top pull: easy, efficient, standard pull container. Also gives you a quick glimpse of what's inside.
Front bottom pull: also easy and efficient, but will also allow you to “slide” it out with one finger in case you've placed your tower on a horizontal surface. Just hold down and slide.
Bottom pull: nice smooth front, however this container only works on the tower with the cutout in the bottom, and the bottom of the tower needs to be accessible. There's a perfect transition with the cutout at the bottom of the tower, check it out in the pictures.
Four different towers!
I actually just needed the two column tower for myself, but why stop there? What if someone needs to take vitamins just once a day? Three times a day? Or even four times a day? What if someone needs to take something once a day but wants to stock up for two weeks? I got you fam.
One column tower: holds 7 containers, can be fixed in a corner
Two column tower: holds 14 containers, can be fixed on a wall
Three column tower: holds 21 containers, can be fixed on a corner
Four column tower: holds 28 containers, can't be fixed to anything
All towers can stand independently on a flat surface, but the one column tower and two column tower are prone to tipping over, so for those I suggest to fix them on to something.
For each type of tower, there's a version with or without a cutout.
The version with the cutout in the bottom will work for all three different types of containers. It is also my personal favorite.
The version without a cutout in the bottom will only work for the front top pull container and the front bottom pull container. Keep this in mind!
All towers come with a lid to keep the top covered (and keep your pills free from dust), but the lid is totally optional. I use mine with the lid, but since it's inside a cabinet it's technically not really needed.
Daily containers available in 8 different languages!
My native language is Dutch, so the containers in my tower have the names of each day of the week in Dutch on them. However, I like helping others, so I've made the containers available in different languages. These are the languages that you can find in the print profiles for the containers:
- English
- Nederlands (Dutch)
- Français (French)
- Deutsch (German)
- Español (Spanish)
- Português (Portuguese)
- Italiano (Italian)
- Dansk (Danish)
If you use the Bambu Handy app, then all you need to do is select the correct plate with your language, and you're all set. Blank containers without any text on them are available as well, those can be found on the first plate of the container profiles.
If you'd like me to add another language, then I can absolutely do that for you!
Just let me know the name of your language and the correct translation for each day of the week in your language, preferably in a comment.
Saw a spelling error in one of my translations? Then please do let me know so that I can swiftly fix it!
Profiles
I have made various print profiles. Some of these are just for the A1 mini, for the A1 mini I've decided that it's better to print the tower on a separate plate from the lid, because it has a smaller print bed size.
All the other profiles for the towers are set to print by object. You can print a tower with or without a cutout at the bottom.
If you are using a gradient filament and want each container to be different (as seen in my pictures) then I suggest to load a profile in Bambu Studio and print the containers with the “print by object” plate setting.
