🔔 Updates / New Additions
This model has received several updates after the initial release:
• Added an additional happy face screen option
• Introduced a new switch insert compatible with LED-integrated keyboard switches
• Added a keychain body option for portable use
💡 LED Switch Support:
The new insert allows you to use LED keyboard switches by removing them from their original housings and installing them into this model.
When the CRT face screens are printed in clear PLA or PETG, pressing the screen will allow the LED to shine through — creating a fun “screen lighting up” effect when clicked.
🔗 LED switch (AliExpress):
There are many LED integrated switches being sold on AliExpress.
📹 A short video showing how to install LEDs into an existing switch will be added soon.
Overview
ScreenPop CRT is a retro CRT television–inspired clicker fidget where the screen itself is the button.
A mechanical keyboard switch is housed behind the screen, so pressing the screen down produces a satisfying, tactile click.
The design is compact, playful, and focused on interaction — turning a familiar retro object into a fun desk toy.
This is my first model upload for 2026.

🔧 Assembly Notes (Important)
- This model is designed to be mostly press-fit
- The fitment between the screen and the mechanical switch is intentionally tight
- You will need to apply a bit of force to press the screen onto the switch stem
→ This is by design to ensure:- A solid, consistent click
- No rattling or looseness during use
- Test-fit carefully and press straight to avoid misalignment
Depending on printer calibration and material:
- You may need a small amount of glue
⚠️ Do NOT glue the screen — it must move freely to click.
A small drop of CA glue can be used for:
- Antennas (especially the separate antenna option)
- Decorative or non-moving parts
🎛️ Switch Compatibility
Designed around standard MX-style mechanical keyboard switches.
This is the exact type of switch used during testing:

You can experiment with:
- Linear switches (smooth)
- Tactile switches (softer bump)
- Clicky switches (loud, crisp click)
🖨️ Printer & Tolerance Disclaimer
This model was designed and printed on a Bambu printer.
As tolerances vary between printers:
- Fit may be tighter or looser on other machines
- Light sanding or glue may be required
