Snapmaker U1 is a great printer, but the stock spool holder is really bad, so after searching the internet looking for a suitable replacement I could not find any that checked all the boxes, so I created one.

Key features:

• Work with any 1kg spool size
• Keep compatibility with NFC tags
• No need to print any adapters for different spool sizes 
• No need to keep screwing / unscrewing to lock the filament in place. Just hang it on the spool holder and off you go!
• Filament will not fall out of the printer as it sometimes can happen with stock spool holder
• Keep the printer aesthetics.
• It has the right amount of friction. It will allow spool to spin without effort but will not keep spinning to avoid unroll the filament by accident.

• It has the right print orientation for the structural parts, so no weak spots between layer lines.

   

How to assemble:

Just put part togethers as shown in the picture. You will need 2 x M3x20 or longer (I used M3x40)
