Update:

• 2016.1.16 upload new print profile for A1 mini, NOTICE:  glue are necessary to fixed the parts on the spool.

  since the legs are no longer fit into the storage area. it also removed from print plate.

Why I made this:

It’s been almost two years since I got the 3D printer, and even with Bambu Labs' reusable spools, I've ended up with a large pile of old spools. Looking at that stack of empty spools, I often wondered how they could be repurposed. I once made a kettlebell, but obviously I don’t need ten kettlebells sitting around my room.

I once saw someone using a foldable stool, which gave me the idea that these spools could possibly be transformed into something similar.

Features:

1. Easy assembly—no AMS required, no glue needed

2. Portable—folds down to no larger than the original spool size

   

3. Reliable—supports a load of at least 80 kg (my weight)

   

    

Solution:

The design is quite simple: just add a top surface, a bottom surface, and three legs to the spool, and it’s basically done. The legs can be detached and stored inside the hollow part of the spool, achieving minimal storage size. 

I added a magnet to the side so the draws are stay closed。

Additionally, I created a version for non-Bambu brand spools that are not detachable, but it requires users to position and glue the parts themselves.

Considering adding more functionality to the stool, such as a charging port, modular tool storage, and more.
