Almost Perfect Dice

This model is a minimalist, high-precision die designed for those who appreciate the unique texture of 3D printing combined with a solid, weighted feel. It is engineered to be a "functional piece of art" that balances aesthetic appeal with durability.

Technical Specifications

To achieve the look and feel shown in the images, I recommend the following print settings:

• Layer Height: 0.12mm. This fine resolution ensures smooth curves and minimizes the "stair-step" effect on the rounded edges.
• Infill & Density: 100% Solid.
• Construction Method: Instead of using a standard infill pattern, this model is designed to be printed using Perimeters (Walls) only. By increasing the wall count until the model is completely solid, you achieve a much more uniform weight distribution and a superior surface finish.
• Material: Works best with PLA for crisp details or PETG for a slightly more resilient finish.

The faces are attached using Super Glue.

Customization

The faces of the "Almost Perfect Dice" are designed to be a blank canvas.

• Files Included: Both .STL and .STEP formats are provided, and a generator to make your custom size dice.
• Personalization: You can easily add your own numbers, logos, or icons to each face using the STEP file in any CAD software (like Fusion 360 or Onshape) or by using the "Negative Part" feature in modern slicers (like Bambu Studio or PrusaSlicer) with the STL.

Note: Because it is printed with a high number of perimeters, the die has a satisfying "heft" in the hand, making it feel much more like a traditional game piece than a hollow 3D print. Final weight using PLA is 4.5 grams.
