This is a drying rack for boots, hats, mittens, etc. that fits over floor air vents up to 6 in x 12 in (150 mm x 300 mm) with threaded drying tubes that are 6 in (150 mm) tall. The base is flared out at the bottom to help reduce tipping when heavy boots are place on the rack. A model for a plug is also included in the print profile for those that don't need eight drying tubes. The plugs and tubes are threaded into the base plate, so the rack layout can be customized to your need and also disassembled for easy storage at the end of the season.

Filament Selection (PLEASE READ!):

The filament you select needs to be sufficient for the temperature of the air coming through your vent. From my research, air temperatures can go as high as approximately 60C (140F) for gas and oil heating forced air systems. For these systems, you should avoid PLA since it has a typical maximum use temperature in 50-60C (122-140F) range, and use something like PETG, ABS or ASA that all have typical use temperatures of at least 70C (158F). For heat pump and electric forced air systems, typical maximum temperatures are more in the 40-45C (104-113F), so PLA might be sufficient. I suggest measuring your air temperature at the vent if possible, or use one of the higher use temperature filaments if you are unsure.

Supports:

The base plate requires small supports under the alignment pins and the dryer tube requires supports under the lower flange. Because the bottom of the dryer tube model has very little contact area, the supports also serve to stabilize the model during printing. The plugs don't require supports. The uploaded print profile has supports set up for the base and tubes, so you don't need to change anything for printing on Bambu printers.

Printing & Assembly:

Base Plate:

Print two of the base plate models to make the full plate. The plate halves can be glued together permanently or taped together if you want to disassemble into smaller pieces for storage at the end of the season.

Dyer Tubes & Plugs:

Because people may choose various combinations of drying tubes and plugs, I have included only a single instance of each model in the print profile. Both simply thread into the base, so print any combination of 8 tubes and/or plugs to fill all the base plate holes in whatever configuration you'd like. Since the base is threaded, you can also change this later if needed.
