Update: 01/18/26 - Added another remix. It is not a upgrade to this one but a different style with more capacity utilizing a different already-available deckbox body from the Snapkeep Deckbox System. Be sure to check it out if you 1) want even more capacity, and 2) have no qualms with printing a massive overhang/roof. This remix is still fine and dandy, so carry on!

Major shoutout to @Xelinor for the amazing SnapKeep Deckbox System!
Due to needing extended dice capacity for my playgroup's outings, I devised this contraption - and have tested it in the real world numerous times in a group of up to 6 with great feedback. I originally used one of the partitions that came with the DeWalt/Craftsman Organizer to simply house my dice, resulted in a pile of hard-to-find dice. That led to the creation of this.
I've designed this simple yet robust extended dice insert for use with an existing deckbox within the original SnapKeep Deckbox System - specifically the Single Case Deckbox. The creator included a thoughtful dicebox with the set - so be sure sure to look at that if you don't need the capacities that my inserts provide.
Again, this insert is made to fit only within the “Single Case Deckbox”. Think of it this way; instead of dropping your Commander Deck in there, you would drop this in there.
It's a simple print with no overhang - boost layer height and speed it up if you're in a hurry. You can see in one of my photos [of the gray insert] that it was printed at ludicrous speed and has fuzzies everywhere. Maybe don't crank it up too quick unless you're calibrated for it. The walls are essentially solid, but due to weight of dice themselves and the hollow space between the outside walls of dice and center slot, I still recommend 3 walls @ 15% infill.

More Details:
Is the GameGenic Slide Card Case still necessary? Yes.
- It serves as the ‘lid’ or ‘top’ to prevent dice from popping out of the tray while in transport.
- Do I need to put a card in the Slide Card Case? No.
The Slide Case itself serves as the ceiling. However, feel free to display some fabulous cards such as I did. I used the infamous Hot Dog Cart in my daily 6 deck case, and a Junk Token (with a Squirrel on the back/inside…get it?) in my 15 deck case. I also put some drops of superglue to hold it there semi-permanently since I won't be pulling it out to cast as my commander at any point. That part is optional.
- What is the capacity? A lot.
- The 16mm insert holds 40 dice in the outer racks, plus 15+ in the center slot.
- 16mm Dice are ‘normal’ or ‘traditional’ sized dice.
- The 12mm insert holds 70 in the outer racks alone, plus 25+ in the center slot.
The combo insert holds 35 12mm dice on one wall, and 20 16mm dice on the other.
- The 16mm insert holds 40 dice in the outer racks, plus 15+ in the center slot.
- More about the center slot:
- It goes almost all the way to the bottom and it spherical at the base so there won't ever be anything getting stuck in the corner.
- It holds standard sized D20's.
The slot is largest on the 12mm Insert due to more available space between the two racks (it's pretty much two fingers wide). It is smallest on the 16mm Insert. The Combo Insert splits the difference.
- Will you make a solid lid? At some point, yes.
- Originally it was my goal, but now I've learned to love the cards I have displayed. My buddy mentioned sticking an actual playing card in there (ie: Ace of Spades or Joker) to go with the dice theme. That being said, this took me forever (literal weeks and 2kilos of filament because I'm a total noob), so I'm not in a rush to start over. Perhaps you will…and remix it for us?!
When I do start over, I'll be trying to utilize the Two Case Deckbox because it's deeper. I might be able to cram another row of dice in to further increase capacity.

- Not all dice are the exact same size. Will mine fit? Yes.
- If it says “16mm” or “12mm” it should fit what I intended designed for. You can see from one of my photos (based on the height of each stack of 16mm dice) that there are variances from manufacturers.
- My tolerances are generous to accommodate reasonable variances, material variances, etc. The inserts drop into the Single Case Deckbox with basically zero friction.
- I've ordered hundreds of dice (about 10 different ‘kits’ from the internet) while prototyping.
- I've also tried all available dice at my local game shop.
- Mainly modeled 16mm tolerances around the “MTG Dice” sets off the internet (which were the same as at the local game stores to be honest).
Modeled 12mm tolerances off Chessex Mini Dice as well as generic 12mm dice sets available online (they were exactly the same dimensions).

- Do the dice fall out the side? Nope.
Use your thumb to slide them up and out the slot. You can reach over the top to the side opposite of you and slide them up with a finger.
- Do you leave it in the Single Card Deckbox when in use? Nope.
- You open your Deckbox, pop out the insert, and plop in on the table. Just like you would your cards.
