Knitting needle holder

These spring-activated knitting needle holders are made to keep your knitting safe while you’re on the go—so your needles stay together and your stitches don’t slide off during transport.

How they work

To use the holder, press down on the top to open the gripping mechanism, then insert your needles into the two holes. When you release the top, the holder closes again and locks the needles in place with spring tension, keeping them secure inside your project bag.

Assembly required

After printing 4 springs must be installed before the holders can be used. Once assembled, the mechanism provides a firm, reliable grip without damaging the needles. Springs are required for assembly. The model is designed for original Bambu Lab springs.

Alternatively salvage compression springs from four identical ballpoint pens. Using matching springs helps ensure even pressure and a smooth, reliable locking action. note that not all springs from ballpoint pens are strong enough to give a firm reliable grip.

When assembling the top and bottom parts, make sure the needle holes and the spring positions are properly aligned before pressing them together. Once the top and bottom are fully snapped/pressed into place, the holder is very difficult to take apart again, so it’s important to double-check alignment first.

Simply place the aligned bottom and top parts on a sturdy table and press firmly with your palm until the top snaps in place.

Two versions

Large hole version: fits knitting needles from 4.0 mm to 10.5 mm
Slim hole version: fits knitting needles from 1.0 mm to 5.5 mm
