String Art Lamp

This unique 3D printed lamp blends vintage inspiration with modern maker creativity. Designed to work seamlessly with the Bambu Lab LED Lamp Kit, the lamp uses string or thread to create striking geometric and organic light patterns that are completely customizable.

The structure features five vertical posts with integrated notches, allowing you to weave string in endless configurations once the print is assembled. From elegant, symmetrical designs to bold, funky patterns, every lamp can be truly one-of-a-kind. Experiment with different string colors and filament choices to completely change the look and mood of the lamp.

A threaded LED puck holder securely mounts to the bottom of the lamp, keeping the light source flush with the base, while evenly illuminating the string art above. The result is a warm, eye-catching glow that looks great in modern, retro, or artistic spaces.

Assembly Instructions

1. Install the Posts

• Press-fit the five posts into the corresponding slots in the base of the lamp.
• Ensure each post is fully seated and standing straight before proceeding.

2. Attach the Top

• Align the top ring of the lamp with the five posts.
• Carefully slide the top down so the notches on the top engage with the notches on the posts.
• Once in place, the top will tie all five posts together and ensure proper alignment.

3. Create Your String Art Design

• With the frame fully assembled, begin creating your string or thread design using the integrated notches on the posts.
• To start the design, you can either:
  • Tie the string/thread securely, or
  • Place a small drop of super glue in a notch and allow it to dry for 1–2 minutes before continuing.
• Take your time and enjoy experimenting with different patterns and directions to create your own unique geometric design.
• When you reach the final notch, finish the string by either tying it off or securing it with another small drop of super glue. Allow the glue to fully dry before releasing tension.

4. Install the LED Puck

• Thread the LED puck light through the LED holder.
• Carefully screw the threaded LED holder onto the base.
• Make sure the holder is aligned straight when threading it on to avoid cross-threading.
• Tighten until snug—do not overtighten.

5. Enjoy

• Power on the LED puck and admire your finished lamp.
• Experiment with different string colors, filament types, and patterns to create multiple unique looks from the same design.
