I made some adjustments to @chris_dobson 's design.  I wanted something that would scale up or down, and still retain the dragons without worrying about the retention pieces.  

The top of the display has tiny knobs on the end that hold the dragons to the interior of the stand.  I also split the uprights, and added small connectors.  I secured the upright halves together using two part epoxy (since I'm using PETG), and clamped them.  This minimizes weaknesses due to layer orientation, which was a problem for me.
