After the hinge on my Simplehuman trash can foot pedal broke, I designed a custom replacement part that snaps securely into the existing pedal.

This model replaces the broken hinge without the need for glue or additional hardware. Simply press the part into place (it requires a bit of force) until you hear a “click,” then reattach it to the trash can.

A quick, sturdy fix that extends the life of the bin instead of replacing it.
