Modelo 3D P2S Side Spool Kit (LEFT side) por Dimitar Buckoff no MakerWorld

Descrição

P2S Only! A Y-splitter mount and a PTFE side guide for the perfect filament path!

Introduction:

When your brand new P2S printer has its back to the wall and there is no space to use the external spool holder that BambuLab provided with your P2S, but you still need to use an external spool separately from your AMS, you get inventive. And when you get a filament dryer box for the PLA-CF you love so much, you need to find the shortest available path for the filament to traverse from the spool to the hotend.

Ladies and Gentlemen, in comes the P2S Side Spool Kit, containing the P2SY-Guide and P2SE-Guide

P2SY-Guide will open a second entry point and the filament input of the printer, while P2SE-Guide will keep the PTFE tube from the AMS out of the way.

This kit will make use of the default external spool holder and help your brittle filament go the fastest path from the drybox to the hotend while the tube from the AMS/Buffer is elegantly guided to the entry point.

P2SY-Guide also makes use of the one and only perfect Y-splitter that can work with PLA-CF, by Fusion360Addict.

Why choose this project?

There are a few really important aspects of the this project:

  1. It fits P2S only, as the PTFE entry point is too close to the edge of the printer to use the already existing PTFE guides;
  2. The splitter mount latches between the top glass cover and the side panel to stay securely in place;
  3. It contains a Y-splitter for AMS and the side spool / dryer box;

Printing:

  • The most important aspect of this print is that the integrated Y-splitter should be printed HORIZONTALLY, so the filament can pass through unimpeded. This is really important for brittle filaments like PLA-CF.
  • I suggest printing in at least PLA-CF, or even tougher filament;
  • Carefully remove the brims and supports after printing (or leave them, if you prefer the modern industrial design trend);

Parts needed:

  1. All the required components from the original Y-splitter (I used the connectors from these couplers);
  2. The PTFE guide from the original P2S spool holder;
  3. The original PTFE tube from the filament buffer to the printer entry point;
  4. 11cm PTFE tube from the P2SY-Guide to the printer;
  5. 3cm PTFE tube from the Bambu filament guide to the P2SY-Guide;

Mounting P2SY-Guide:

  1. Follow the original Y-splitter instructions for mounting the connectors;
  2. Unscrew the filament guide from the P2S side spool holder that came with your printer;
  3. Unscrew the screw next to the filament entry point in the back of the printer;
  4. Unscrew both of the M2 screws that hold the side spool holder plate at the back of the printer and stash the holder - you might need it in the future;
  5. Carefully latch the splitter assembly between the top glass cover and the side panel;
  6. Screw one of the M2 screw from p.4 all the way in;
  7. Insert one side of the 11cm PTFE tube into the left connector - make sure it goes all the way in - it has ~2mm way to go after the connector, then insert the other end into the printer entry point;
  8. Insert one side of the 3cm PTFE tube into the Bambu filament guide from the external spool holder, and the other into the top connector of the P2SY-Guide - again, make sure it goes all the way in.

Mounting P2SE-Guide:

  1. Place P2SE-Guide at external spool position 2 - the one that's in the middle - and use the second screw your removed earlier in the outer hole (the one with the notch);
  2. Guide the PTFE tube from the filament buffer through P2SE-Guide and into the lower connector of P2SY-Guide - make sure it goes all the way in.

Happy printing!

P.S. Feel free to delete the decal on P2SE-Guide. I placed it as a playground and it simply looked too good to me, so I kept it.
